Ophelia rests floating upside down in the flotsam and jetsam of the river. Grey-green spirits hover over her. She is back-lit with tiny lights where the sun dances and sparkles over the the river. Junk, jewels, hair, yarn, wooden finials, electric knobs, drift wood are among the bits and bobs that make up this intricate piece.
Artist Statement: Living along the Delaware River, witness to three area floods, Ophelia is a metaphor, not as loss of life, as much as loss of home and often loss of livelihood.
